E-mail Print PDF

The Technical High School Forestry/ Wood Harvesting Programs in Maine are the only entry level training available in Maine. Currently there are four programs in Maine located across the state in Norway, Rumford, Farmington and Dyer Brook. Although program content varies slightly with each school, all offer Certified Logging Professional (CLP) Apprenticeship certification to successful graduates. These programs accept high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Training lasts between one and three years depending on the individual school. All programs have a strong hands on component operating various types of logging equipment (from chain saws and cable skidders to Cut to Length harvester) on a school logging operation.
